An example of price discrimination: a few books, including "A Course in Game Theory" and "Lectures in Microeconomics" are freely available on Martin Osborne and Ariel Rubinstein's website. Registration is required, but the books are of good quality and really free.
As I usually read the preface of books and most people don't, here's a curious excerpt from their game theory book:
"We disagree about how to handle English third-person singular pronouns."
Then we have a few paragraphs explaining that Ariel prefers to use "he" for all individuals and that Martin prefers to use "she" for all individuals. Martin prefers to use "she" in order to overcompensate for years of pronoun sexism.
"To conclude, we both feel strongly on this issue; we both regard the compromise that we have reached as highly unsatisfactory."
Well, I hope they are still friends. Thank you Prof. Osborne and Prof. Rubinstein!
